Definition
尖锐 (jiānruì) describes something sharp, piercing, or pointed, covering physical edges, sounds, and critical insight. For a blade, 锋利 (fēnglì) is more specific; for an unpleasant sound, 刺耳 (cì'ěr) emphasizes the grating quality. In mental contexts, 尖锐 means pointed criticism, while 敏锐 (mǐnruì) stresses quick perception.
