Definition
小觑 is a formal/literary verb meaning 'to look down on, to despise'. It is almost always used in the negative or with 所: 不可小觑 ('cannot be underestimated'), 不容小觑 ('must not be taken lightly'). In everyday spoken Chinese, 小看 or 轻视 is more common.
