小型 (xiǎo xíng) is an adjective meaning 'small-scale, small-sized', used like a prefix to describe the scale or size of a thing (e.g. 小型企业 'small business'). It's less extreme than 微型 'mini-/micro-' (for miniature versions) and does not carry the 'extremely tiny' nuance of 微小 or the 'insignificant' sense of 渺小. Its opposite is 大型 'large-scale'.
