Definition
封爵 is a formal historical verb-object compound (离合词) meaning 'to grant a noble title' — used in ancient China when a ruler conferred a rank of nobility (公爵、侯爵, etc.) on a person for merit or lineage. As a separable verb, you can insert other elements between 封 and 爵, e.g. 封了他一个侯爵 ('granted him a marquis title'). The object is always the recipient introduced by 给/封, not placed after the whole word directly.
