Definition
对 (duì) has several uses. As a preposition it means 'to, towards, for' — broader than 向 (xiàng), which stresses direction. As a classifier (e.g. 一对猫 'a pair of cats'), 对 is used for things that come in twos, like 双 (shuāng) but 双 is more common for body parts and shoes.
