Definition
对门 (duì mén) is a noun meaning the house or building directly across the street, hallway, or courtyard. By extension, it can also refer to the neighbor who lives in that opposite dwelling — Chinese merges the location and the person into one word, where English would use separate phrases. You'll often hear it in phrases like 住对门 ('live across the way') or 对门邻居 ('the neighbor across from you').
