Definition
对立 (duì lì) describes a state of being opposed to each other, often between two sides or viewpoints. It is less active than 对抗 (duì kàng) or 对峙 (duì zhì), which imply direct confrontation or a standoff, and more about mutual opposition than 相对 (xiāng duì), which can also mean 'relative' or 'facing each other' without antagonism.
