Definition
宽大 has two distinct meanings: for physical space it means 'spacious, roomy', and for attitude or treatment it means 'lenient, magnanimous'. When talking about rooms or clothes, use it as a stative verb (很大/宽大的房间); when talking about a punishment or judgment, use it in phrases like 宽大处理 (to handle with leniency). The two senses share the same character but appear in very different contexts.
