Definition
容积 refers to the internal capacity of a container (such as a tank, bottle, or room) or the usable floor area of a building. It is distinct from 体积 (tǐjī), which is the physical volume of an object (solid or liquid), and from 容量 (róngliàng), which also means 'capacity' but is often used for electrical or data capacity. In real estate, 容积率 (róngjīlǜ) means 'floor area ratio'.
