客 is a bound morpheme (rarely used alone) that appears as a component in nouns referring to people in various roles: a guest (客人), a customer (顾客), a passenger (乘客), a tourist (游客), or a traveler (旅客). It also forms part of the adjective 客观 (objective). You'll almost always encounter 客 as part of a two-character compound.
