Definition
守约 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to keep a promise' or 'to honor an agreement'. You can separate 守 and 约 when adding aspect markers (守过约), resultative complements (少不了约? not common), or frequently with quantity expressions (守了一次约, 守了三次约). It is a formal or written term — in everyday speech, 守信用 is more common.
