Definition
孝敬 (xiàojìng) means 'to show filial respect' and is specifically about caring for and giving gifts to one's parents or elders as a dutiful child. It differs from 孝顺 (xiàoshùn), which is broader 'filial piety' (obedience and devotion), and from 敬重/崇敬, which are general 'deep respect' for anyone, not just family.
