Definition
姻亲 refers to relatives you gain through marriage — your spouse's family and your siblings' spouses' families. It's a formal term used in family trees, legal contexts, and when specifying the type of relationship. Unlike 亲戚 (relatives in general), 姻亲 specifically excludes blood relations (血亲).
