Definition
妇道 is a culturally loaded term referring to both women as a collective group and the traditional Confucian code of proper conduct and virtues expected of women — such as obedience, chastity, and domesticity. It can carry a neutral descriptive sense ('womenfolk') or a prescriptive, often old-fashioned judgment about how women should behave. Use with caution in modern contexts as it may sound patriarchal.
