Definition
失真 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to be distorted' or 'to lack fidelity' — the original signal, sound, image, or information deviates from the real thing. You can split it: 失了真 ('has become distorted'). It's commonly used in photography, audio, radio, and data transmission contexts. As a v.o., the object or measure word goes between the two syllables: 失了一点真 ('lost a bit of fidelity').
