天国 literally means 'heavenly kingdom'. In Christian contexts it refers to the Kingdom of Heaven, a central religious concept. Historically, it was used in the name of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom (太平天国), a major 19th-century rebellion. More generally, it can mean an ideal paradise or utopian place.
