Definition
大成 literally means 'great achievement' or 'great completion'. In traditional Chinese culture it is most famously associated with Confucius as in 大成至圣先师 (the Ultimate Sage and Foremost Teacher), and the Dacheng Hall (大成殿) in Confucian temples. The word can also refer to a culmination or synthesis of knowledge or art, as in 集大成 (to bring together and perfect).
