Definition
大夫 (dài fu) is a colloquial, everyday term for 'doctor', especially common in northern China. It's less formal than 医生 (yī shēng), which is the standard, neutral word. In casual conversation the two are often interchangeable, but 大夫 sounds more natural and informal.
