Definition
复原 has two main uses: restoring something to its original state (e.g., pottery, photos) and recovering from illness or damage. For restoring, 还原 is more technical (chemistry, computing) and 再现 is about recreating a scene, not the original object. For health recovery, 恢复 is the everyday word, 康复 is medical (recuperation), and 复苏 means to revive from unconsciousness or economic downturn.
