Definition
堆 (duī) means to pile things up loosely, like snow or trash, without special order. In contrast, 码 (mǎ) implies neat stacking (e.g., bricks), and 叠 (dié) means to fold or stack flat items (e.g., clothes). 堆积 (duī jī) is a more formal synonym for accumulating large amounts.
