Definition
国土 (guó tǔ) is the general term for a country's national territory, emphasizing political sovereignty. Compared to 领土 (lǐng tǔ), which is a narrower legal term (e.g., in treaties), 国土 is broader and used in everyday state discourse. 土地 (tǔ dì) is broader still ('land, soil'), while 本土 (běn tǔ) means 'native land' or 'homeland' (often domestic vs. foreign).
