Definition
囟 is a bound form (b.f.) that only appears in compound words, most commonly 囟门 (xìnmén, 'fontanel, the soft spot on a baby's skull'). You cannot use 囟 alone; it must be attached to another morpheme. In medical or parenting contexts, you'll encounter it in 囟门 and related terms like 前囟 (front fontanel) and 后囟 (back fontanel).
