Definition
回忆 (huíyì) means to deliberately recall past events or experiences, often with a sense of nostalgia or reflection. It's more emotional and narrative than 记得 (jìde) 'to remember a fact/person', and more commonly used than 回想 (huíxiǎng) or 记忆 (jìyì) for everyday conscious recollection. 牢记 (láo jì) and 缅怀 (miǎn huái) are stronger: 牢记 is 'keep firmly in mind', and 缅怀 is a formal, reverent term for cherishing the memory of the deceased or past eras.
