Definition
嘱咐 (zhǔfù) means to earnestly urge or advise someone, often with repeated reminders out of concern. It is softer and more caring than 吩咐 (fēn fù 'instruct, order'), and less intense than 叮嘱 (dīng zhǔ 'repeatedly exhort'). Use 嘱咐 when you want to emphasize heartfelt advice, not a command.
