Definition
嗡 is an onomatopoeia for a low, continuous buzzing or droning sound, such as the noise an insect makes in flight, the hum of machinery, or a vibrating object. You can use it on its own (嗡的一声 'with a buzz') or reduplicated as 嗡嗡 (wēng wēng) to emphasize a sustained sound.
