Definition
唱工 refers to the vocal technique and skill of singing in traditional Chinese opera (especially Peking opera). It contrasts with 做打 (acting and acrobatics) and is one of the four core performance skills. A performer's 唱工 is judged by their breath control, diction, and emotional expression in the singing parts.
