Definition
响应 means 'to respond to a call, appeal, or request', often with a supportive or active tone. It is more formal than 答应 (dā ying 'answer/agree') and 答 (dá 'reply'), and distinct from 反应 (fǎn yìng 'react') and 回应 (huí yìng 'formal/official response'). Use 响应 for responding to a government call, a proposal, or a collective initiative.
