品位 (pǐn wèi) denotes aesthetic taste, refinement, or the quality grade of a product. It differs from 档次 (dàng cì), which is a scale-based grade (e.g., high-end vs low-end)—档次 is about ranking, while 品位 is about the level of taste or inherent quality. The adjective 精美 (jīng měi) refers to physical exquisiteness in craftsmanship, not abstract taste.
