Definition
咬合 describes the action of two objects fitting closely together, often with interlocking or meshing. You'll hear it most in two contexts: mechanical engineering, where gear teeth 咬合 (engage/interlock), and dentistry, where the upper and lower teeth 咬合 (occlude) when you close your mouth. It's a formal verb, common in technical writing and professional speech.
