呼啸 (hūxiào) describes a sharp, continuous sound made by wind, a fast-moving vehicle, or an object cutting through air — like a howling gale or a speeding train. It differs from 吼 (hǒu), which is a low, angry roar from a person or animal, and is not used for wind or machines.
