Definition
呈 (chéng) has two distinct uses: (1) to formally submit something to a superior (more formal than 递交, which is neutral); (2) to appear or take on a certain form, color, or quality (e.g. leaves turn golden). It is not related to 屈服 (to yield under pressure) or 进/投 (enter/throw).
