Definition
吸气 is a verb-object compound (离合词) meaning 'to inhale'. As a separable verb, 吸 and 气 can be split: you can insert measure words (吸一口气 'take a breath'), durations (吸了三秒钟气 'inhaled for three seconds'), or other modifiers between them. It's the opposite of 呼气 (exhale).
