Definition
听凭 means 'to allow someone to do as they please' or 'to let something happen without interfering'. It carries a nuance of resignation or non-interference — you're giving permission not because you agree, but because you've decided not to stop the person. It's more formal and literary than 让 or 允许, and often appears in contexts where the speaker is reluctantly letting something happen.
