Definition
后劲 describes the energy or effect that emerges after the initial phase of something. It has two main uses: (1) the stamina or resilience that shows up in the later stage of an activity or performance (e.g., an athlete's endurance, a wine's aftertaste), and (2) the delayed impact of an action, policy, or substance (e.g., a medicine's lasting effect). This is not about the first impression—it's about what happens later.
