Definition
右旋 (yòu xuán) is a technical noun referring to the property of rotating or spiraling to the right (clockwise when viewed from a standard perspective). It is used in chemistry to describe dextrorotatory isomers (e.g., 右旋糖酐), in physics for right-handed polarization, and in biology for right-handed helical structures. The opposite is 左旋 (zuǒ xuán, 'left-handed rotation').
