Definition
可否 is a formal, polite expression used in written and spoken Chinese to pose a yes-no question about possibility or permission. It combines 可 (can) and 否 (not) and is equivalent to 'may I ask if it is possible?' or 'can or cannot?'. It typically appears at the beginning of a sentence or after the subject in formal requests, and it often carries a deferential tone.
