Definition
参观 means 'to visit (a place) to see or learn about it' – used for museums, factories, exhibitions, etc. It focuses on purposeful observation, unlike 游览 (sightseeing for leisure) or 观光 (tourist sightseeing). Do not use 参观 for visiting a person; use 探望 instead.
