Definition
压轴戏 originally referred to the second-to-last item on a traditional Chinese opera program, which is actually the climax of the show. In modern usage it is often mistakenly used to mean the final item (which is correctly called 大轴 dàzhóu). Figuratively, it can refer to the most exciting or important part of any event or performance. The pronunciation is yā zhòu xì, though the pinyin field in the input is incomplete — the full three-syllable reading is standard.
