Definition
包庇 (bāo bì) means to shield or cover up someone's wrongdoing, often with a legal or moral negative connotation. Unlike 隐藏 (yǐn cáng), which is about hiding things physically or keeping secrets, 包庇 specifically protects a person from blame or punishment. It is more focused on wrongdoing than 掩护 (yǎn hù), which provides general cover or protection.
