Definition
办 (bàn) is the common, all-purpose verb for handling affairs, doing tasks, or running something. It's more neutral and widely used than 办理 (bàn lǐ), which is more formal and often used for official procedures. Unlike 搞 (gǎo), which is very broad and informal, 办 focuses on getting a specific task or matter done.
