创业 (chuàng yè) specifically means 'to start a business' — it's a verb-object compound (创 + 业) that can split, as in 创过一次业. Unlike 创立/开创/创办 (to establish/found something, which can be a company, institution, or era), 创业 is only used for launching a business venture. 冒险 (to take risks) is a different concept.
