刃 is a bound form (b.f.) meaning 'blade' or 'sharp edge of a knife or sword'. It usually appears as part of compounds like 刀刃 (knife blade), 利刃 (sharp blade), and 白刃 (naked blade). In literary Chinese, it can also function as a verb meaning 'to kill with a blade', as in 手刃 (to kill with one's own hand). As a bound form, it cannot stand alone as a free word in modern Mandarin.
