Definition
出自 (chū zì) means 'to come from' and is used for the origin of quotes, idioms, ideas, or abstract sources. It is more formal and specific than 来自 (lái zì), which can refer to physical places or general sources. Unlike 出于 (chū yú), which indicates a reason or motive, 出自 points to the original source.
