几度 is a literary or formal word that can mean either 'several times' (indicating repeated occurrences) or 'how many times' (in questions). It is not used for temperature or angles — that sense is covered by 度 alone. In modern Chinese, it appears more often in written or poetic contexts than in everyday speech.
