Definition
冷酷 (lěng kù) describes a person who is cold-hearted and callous, implying a harsh, unfeeling nature that can be cruel. It is stronger than 冷漠 (lěng mò, cold and indifferent) and 冷淡 (lěng dàn, cold in manner, often temporary). 无情 (wú qíng, ruthless, merciless) is similar but focuses more on lack of mercy, while 冷酷 emphasizes a chilling hardness.
