冷气 (lěng qì) is the term for 'air conditioning' commonly used in Taiwan, whereas 空调 (kōng tiáo) is the standard term in mainland China. 冷气 can also literally mean 'cold air', but in everyday use it refers to the air-conditioning system or the cool air it produces.
