冲击 (chōng jī) emphasizes a forceful, often destructive impact — physically (waves battering) or abstractly (a crisis shaking confidence). Unlike 攻击 (gōng jī) which is aggressive/intentional, or 打击 (dǎ jī) which means to strike down or discourage, 冲击 focuses on the sheer force and effect, not the intent or target.
