Definition

再次 (zài cì) means 'once more, again' and is more formal and emphatic than the simpler 再 (zài, HSK1). It can be used for both past and future actions, unlike 又 (yòu, HSK3) which mainly marks repetition of a past or habitual event. 重新 (chóng xīn, HSK4) and 重 (chóng, HSK4) imply doing something from the beginning or over in a different way, while 再次 simply marks another occurrence.
