Definition
入籍 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to become a naturalized citizen'. The verb 入 and the object 籍 can split when inserting aspect markers (了, 过), duration, or measure words: 入了籍, 入过籍, 入的籍. You cannot put a direct object after 入籍; instead say 入某国籍 or 在某国入籍.
