入学 (rù xué) focuses on the formal process of enrolling or starting school, often involving paperwork and official registration. It is more specific than 上学 (shàng xué), which means attending school regularly, and different from 开学 (kāi xué), which refers to the start of a term for all students. Use 入学 when talking about the act of becoming a student at a school.
